OKLAHOMA! OPENING NIGHT!
Sixty-six San Marin students plus six younger community members make up the cast, tech crew & orchestra that will be launching the production on March 25th.
Rodgers and Hammerstein's timeless music is perfectly paired with the story based on Lynn Riggs play "Green Grow the Lilacs". Some of the original Agnes de Mille dances have been recreated and adapted by student choreographers. The production is directed by Pat Nims, with musical direction by Emily Gates, and the orchestra led by Samantha Maaslehbrown.
The roles of Laurey, Will, Ado Annie, Aunt Eller, Jud and Gertie have all been double cast.
Marina Nims and a crew of students and parents have been working on authentically accurate costumes while other students and parents have developed some stunning views of the wide-open spaces.
Tickets for Oklahoma! may be purchased in advance for $8 in the San Marin High School office or BrownPaperTickets.com. Purchase tickets early - this is a fun show for the whole family and sure to be a sell-out! If tickets are still available at the door, the price will be $10. The show runs March 25, 26, April 1 and 2 at 8PM and March 27 and April 3 at 2PM in the Emily Gates Student Center.

DRAMA STUDENTS RECOGNIZED!
San Marin Advanced Drama Students brought home awards from 17th annual Ohlone College High School Theatre Festival in Fremont.
- Lindsey Campbell received a Judges Award for best actress for her performance in a scene from Anne of Thousand Days.
- Cortnay Cymrot won the third place trophy (out of 75 entries) for her moving performance in a dramatic monologue from Black Angel.
- Recognized as a top six finalist (out of approximately 75 entries) were performances by Kate Kushnir for her monologue from Neil Simon's Chapter Two and Andrew Kulp and Lindsey Campbell for their performance in Anne of a Thousand Days.
Nineteen San Marin Advanced drama students performed their outstanding scenes and monologues. They braved the big storms running in costume through torrential rain (on this very hilly campus) and often had to perform two different pieces in the same hour. Ms. Kislingbury says, "I am so proud of all of these students. Some students have been perfecting their scenes for the last year. They all came in to rehearse lunch hours and after school. The best part for me is to see how the students support each other through the competition---real teamwork in action."Tech theatre students, Anina Walas, Chris Garrison and Caitlyn Keaney served as monitors for the competition
Don't miss this talented group of San Marin Drama students in this spring's Drama Production of Jane Eyre May 6, 7,9, 13,14,16, at 7:30 pm , San Marin Student Center.
Tickets will be available at the door. There will be guest appearances in this show by several San Marin Teachers and seven middle school students from Sinaloa and Hill.

The CDC recommends that most everyone over 6 months still get the flu vaccine especially those who are at high risk of serious flu complications such as young children, pregnant women, and people with chronic health conditions.
People are encouraged to take everyday preventive actions to stop the spread of germs such as frequent hand washing and covering the nose and mouth when coughing or sneezing. In addition, people should avoid coming in contact with those who are ill. Avoid touching the eyes, nose, and mouth where germs live. Those who are sick with flu-like illness, should stay home for at least 24 hours after the fever is gone without the use of a fever-reducing medicine.
