PONY Express Pasta Dinner- Saturday, 5-7:30PM -Mini-Gym

Have dinner before the MC games!!  The San Marin Journalism Class will host a pasta dinner this Saturday in the mini gym from 5 to 7:30PM.  Adults will be $8, Students $5.  Proceeds will go toward new equipment for the journalism class. Come on out for dinner and a game!

BEAT MC!  MCAL REGULAR SEASON TITLE ON THE LINE!

The top two boys varsity squads in MCAL tip off tomorrow night, February 5th at 7:30PM.  San Marin is #1 and Marin Catholic is #2. Winner will help determine whether we have a tie or outright winner of the MCAL regular season!  Come on out to support all our teams!  JV Boys are looking for a sweep of MC and our Varsity girls are looking to get even after their first meeting...  JV Boys are at 4:30PM... Varsity Girls are at 6:00PM... 
MUSIC NEWS

Vocal Jazz Festival at San Marin -  this Saturday!

 

On February 5th, ten vocal jazz groups from various parts of the Bay area will come to San Marin for a California Music Educators' Association adjudicated festival.  Groups  from San Jose, San Francisco, and Ripon will be represented.  The only Marin County schools participating are San Rafael and San Marin.


The performances begin at 10AM with the last group performing at 3:45PM.  Each group will be SanMarinMusicgiven an onstage clinic following the performance.  The festival is free and open to the public.  A snack bar manned by San Marin Music Boosters will be open as well.

 

 


More jazz, both vocal and instrumental, will be heard at San Marin when Jazz 'n Java takes place on February 17th.  San Marin's jazz band, jazz choir, concert choir, and jazz combos will be performing that evening beginning at 7:30.  Tickets at the door are $5 and will include a cup of java and a homemade biscotti.  There will also be a silent auction, featuring baskets donated by Harvest Market and various other prizes.

Math teacher Kim Laabs is the teacher-sponsor, and attorney coaches are Alan Charmatz, Jay Ruskin and Chris Sheron. The Mustangs and teams from 6 other public and private high schools in Marin County will compete against each other in the trial of  People vs. Woodson, in which the defendant is on trial for cyber-bullying and assaulting a middle school student with a brick.  The teams compete this Saturday, February 5th starting at 8:45 am.
