Wednesday, March 25th there will be an awards ceremony at San Marin High school (see Principal Dr. Vieth's March letter about Student Achievement Recognition).
One of the awards that will be given will be for community service.
The community service award will be selected based on the information provided through the students PrepHQ account. Students need to record their community service hours on their PrepHQ account by going to the third tab down on the left "My Organizer" then to the "Service" tab. They can access the San Marin PrepHQ page through the San Marin website at www.sanmarinmustang.org and press on the 'PrepHQ' tab (the Fifth tab) on the Top Menu Bar of the Website. The PrepHQ tab can also be found through the College and Career Center tab on the Left Menu Bar and look under Resources and click on College PrepHQ. Students hours will be verified by requiring the student to bring in written proof from the organizations they have volunteered for.
Deadline for entering hours for Community Service Award consideration is Friday, March 20, 2009.
Many students still have their paper copies of their hours in the College and Career Center and have been asked to pick them up. The College and Career Center will not be tracking the students records. It is up to the student to input them on the PrepHQ website and keep paper copies of the records in their personal files for verification purposes.
Hours should also be recorded under the resume/activities tab, then volunteering. This tool will configure a resume for the students and can be formatted fit any requirement needed for resume, i.e. scholarship, letters of recommendation, jobs, internships etc.
Visit San Marin PrepHQ for all College and Career Center events and information.
