SAN MARIN BOYS AND GIRLS BASKETBALL PLAYOFF INFO

For the second year in a row, both the boys' and girls' basketball teams have qualified for the MCAL Playoffs starting this Tuesday.

The girls wrapped up the # 5 seed with a 40-19 win over Terra Linda on Thursday night.  The girls finished the season 7-7 and will face Drake on Tuesday for a spot in the semi-finals.

The boys had back to back magical finishes to clinch the # 6 seed.  First, they came back from a 22 point deficit to start the 4th quarter in Thursday's game vs. Terra Linda.  The boys exploded for an MCAL record 36 points to send the game to overtime at 76-76.  Then they outscored TL 13-6 to pullout one of the greatest comebacks in MCAL history 89-82.  Then Saturday night they played Marin Catholic in a one game play in game for the # 6 seed.  The boys won a heartstopping 46-45 win knocking Marin Catholic out of the playoffs for the first time in 16 years.  The boys now open Tuesday against Redwood.

Both the boys and girls teams are playing their best basketball of the season right now, so you never know what could be in store this week.  We hope everyone has a chance to come out and support both teams in their quest for an MCAL Title.
