Rent A Sign - Support the Market

We'd love to have you support the Broad Ripple Farmers Market by "renting" and displaying a new BRFM yard sign in YOUR front yard! The "rental" fee of $5 will help the BRFM pay for Market expenses (rent, insurance, electricity, signage, etc.), and it will give you the opportunity to promote the Market to your friends, neighbors and passersby. Plus, we are pretty sure it will add to the market value of your home! ;-) Signs are available now at the Saturday Market and can be ordered at the Wednesday Market for pickup at the next Saturday Market.

Vendor Profile: Hill Top Farm
Owned and operated by Paul and Carol Grogg in Bryant, Indiana, Hill Top Farm is a 5-acre operation, raising game birds (including quail, pheasant, guinea hens, rheas, squabs), chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese, rabbits, and goats (the new health meat!). The Groggs bring their frozen poultry and specialty meats and goat summer sausage to the Wednesday Market, along with fresh chicken and quail eggs.
If that weren't exciting enough, the Groggs also sell indoor farm-raised yellow perch from Bell Aquaculture of Albany, Indiana. Yellow perch were once indigenous to Indiana and are now available again, thanks to new fish farming technology. Some of you may remember that we'd hoped to have Bell yellow perch at BRFM two years ago.
The Groggs also sell many varieties of cheese from Swissland, an artisanal cheese producer in Berne, Indiana, where the Groggs' son is cheesemaker. See the current issue of Indiana Living Green for an article on Indiana artisanal cheesemakers.

The folic acid in beets also helps keep cells growing and functioning the way they should. And beets are good for heart health and for keeping blood pressure regulated, because they provide a good amount amount of potassium.

Prepared with the edible skin on, summer squash cooks quickly whether you steam, bake, grill, or sauté it. You can also use summer squash in soups, salads, and stews.
