Vendor Profile:  Circle City Sweets
Business is booming for Circle City Sweets. Opened in January 2007, CCS is now located in the historic Indianapolis City Market at 222 East Market Street. The shop is just inside the south door, in the southwest corner of the building. Cindy's recent post on the company website shows that there's more to them than sweets though.

"I am pleased to say that Circle City Soups has been SO well received at the Farmers Markets! We will be bringing a cooler of some of Roger's soups to each location on Saturday. Roger will be staffing Broad Ripple in our normal tent, so you can talk to him about soup, sample a little and let him know what soups you would like to see him do. If you want to guarantee that we'll have soup for you, just email me back and pre-order."

This week's soups for Saturday will be the My Dad's Sweet Corn Chowder and Gazpacho made with market fresh veggies.

Jalapeno Popper Cups

These mini phyllo cups filled with a creamy, cheesy jalapeno filling are a more sophisticated version of the jalapeno popper.  Serving a crowd?  This recipe can easily be doubled or tripled.

Ingredients
12 mini phyllo tart shells
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
2 jalapeno peppers, seeded and chopped
1 tablespoon hot pepper sauce
bacon bits

Directions
Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).  Place phyllo cups onto a baking sheet.

Stir together cream cheese, Cheddar cheese jalapenos, and hot sauce in a bowl.  Spoon mixture into phyllo cups.  Sprinkle bacon bits on top.  Bake in preheated oven until golden brown, about 15 to 20 minutes.  Serve warm.

 Update on Kelly Funk
 of Seldom Seen Farm

Kelly is now in a long-term acute care facility. She is healing daily, but as of this moment is still in a coma. There is no prognosis at this point, and it will be a long road to recovery.

The recovery fund established at Huntington Bank remains active.  Thank you to all who have already donated.  If you would like to make a donation, you can visit any Huntington Bank branch and tell the teller that you would like to donate to the Kelly Funk Recovery Fund.  Credit card donations can be made online at www.kellyfunkrecoveryfund.com

BRFM will continue to accept cash donations at the market, as well.
