Broad Ripple Farmers' Market
Vendor News

May 6, 2010

Greetings!

All things considered, we had a very good first day.  I appreciated the calls and emails from those of you from the south who chose not to come because of the storms.  Just a reminder to those of you who didn't call -- please call if you have a last minute emergency or change of plans.  I am up by 5 a.m. on Saturdays, getting ready for the Market.  I'll be checking emails too, up until about 6:30 a.m.

Customer turnout was good and steady.  Volunteers (4 of us) took turns standing at the "entrance," welcoming folks back, handing out parking maps, and reminding folks about the one-way in and out. The good news is that most customers had read the newsletter about the new one-way traffic and thought it was a great idea.  And they were pleased to hear that we had additional parking areas.

Here's a reminder to all about the new 12:30 p.m. close.  Last Saturday, we had customers driving in after 12:00 noon (and on a bad weather day), so I think business after noon will be good.  A reminder too about vendor/vendor staff parking.  Please park outside the school grounds.  I noticed several staff were parking on the access road to the south. We'll bring maps around this week for you to share with your staff.

You can view the Vendor Booth Map for May 8th by clicking here.  We are still not filled all the way out -- maybe by next week.  This Saturday is the 500 Festival Mini-Marathon, but that hasn't made a big dent in our attendance in years past.  Also, next weekend will be the Broad Ripple Art Fair, but that hasn't been a problem the last two years either.  It may actually bring in more business!

Let me know if you have any questions or concerns.  See you Saturday!

Thanks!
