OUR WEBSITE UPDATES!

www.MoverRecruiter.com

In our continuing effort to keep the content of our website fresh, Movers Search Group was (and remains to this day) the only moving industry recruiting firm to post DAILY UPDATES to our website.  In particular, the popular feature "TODAY'S HOT JOB" is one page on our site that is visited by hundreds of HHG professionals each day.  You too should take a look.  Every morning we list the day's "Hot Job"---an individual search assignment of high priority.

Along this line, we thought it would be a good idea to add a NEW PAGE to our website:  "TODAY'S TOP CANDIDATE"  Coming soon, this new web page will feature an outstanding candidate from our pool of available talent.  Hiring authorities:  Browse this page every day...you just might find the candidate you have been looking for!

THE SAMUEL H. GRAY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Watch for news on our website and in future Newsletters about the return of the Samuel H. Gray Memorial Scholarship.  Movers Search Group will once again institute this scholarship contest, open to all college (or college bound) students who either work in or are children of a parent who works in the Moving and Storage Industry.  As in the past, applicants will be asked to submit a paper on a topic relating in some manner to the Moving Industry....Details to follow.

MICHAEL PETERSEN has been appointed President and CEO of BEKINS VAN LINES, LLC after a unanimous vote by Bekins' Board of Directors.  He will assume the role upon the retirement of current President & CEO, LARRY MARZULLO on January 1, 2008..........

Best wishes for a complete and speedy recovery go out to one of my competitors, BOB POE who operates Management Recruiters of London, OH. Bob is a fellow "HHG Headhunter" who  recently suffered a medical setback....

SIGN OF THE TIMES:  What with the downturn in the housing/mortgage market and the particularly bad hit that the state of Florida has recently experienced, I suppose it was not as much of a shocker as it would normally be when we heard that one of Atlas' largest multi-location agents had decided to close it's South FL location........

The industry news isn't ALL bad:  Congratulations to old friend BILL ARVIDSON and his company SAV ON MOVING & STORAGE out of southern California....Bill has continued to grow his company at a remarkable pace and has recently expanded operations into San Diego....SAV ON was recognized at the recent National Van Lines Convention as one of the top 3 agents in Customer Service.  Bill has every right to be proud of what he and his staff have accomplished in such a short period of time......

Another friend, MITCH BORSKE, has announced his purchase of ELLIS MOVING AND STORAGE, with locations in Nashville and Clarksville, TN....The company is an agent for National Van Lines.....Fortunately for Mitch, the company is well diversified, with major hotel chains as clients...The company currently is handling the massive Gaylord/Opryland project....

The NEW YORK STOCK EXCHANGE recently notified SIRVA that it was not in compliance with two of the NYSE's continued listing standards: 1) SIRVA's average market capitalization over a 30 day trading period was less than the $75 million level required by the NYSE; and 2) SIRVA was notified that the average closing price per share of the Company's common stock, over a 30 day trading period, was less than the NYSE's continued listing standard of $1 per share.....SIRVA has 6 months to rectify the situation or be subject to suspension and delisting procedures.......

Moving Companies aren't the only trucking operations concerned about driver shotages: A recent AMERICAN TRUCKING ASSOCIATION (ATA) survey of more than 5,000 trucking industry executives revealed the fact that HOURS OF SERVICE rules and a shortage of truck drivers lead the list of concerns among the trucking executives......

ATLAS VAN LINES will be holding it's 60th Annual Atlas Convention November 7-10 in Orlando.....

AMODIO VAN & STORAGE is celebrating it's 25th Anniversary as an agent for MAYFLOWER TRANSIT........

JOHNSON STORAGE & MOVING, agents for UNITED VAN LINES, were recently named the winners of the 2007 Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics.  Presented by the Denver/Boulder Better Business Bureau, JOHNSON won out over 475 nominees selected for consdieration...It's good to hear news of this type about our fellow movers--Congratulations Mark and Jim Johnson!........

SIRVA companies ALLIED VAN LINES and NORTH AMERICAN VAN LINES recently announced the completion of their new individual and independent tariffs.  Of particular note is the fact that these two van lines completed the tariff re-write 3 months  before the Surface Transportation Board's mandated effective date of January 1, 2008........

On October 10th GRAEBEL announced the appointment of WILLIAM GRAEBEL as the CEO of GRAEBEL COMPANIES, INC.  DAVID GRAEBEL will continue as Chairman of the Board......

And finally, indulge us with these belated KUDOS for WESTERN VAN AND STORAGE COMPANY, of Kent, WA.  Western was awarded ALLIED VAN LINES' 2006 AGENT OF THE YEAR (Since we were too busy recruiting last month to publish our regular Newsletter we're a bit late reporting on this!)...Congratulations to PATRICK Di Julio and his staff!
