Major Agencies to Participate in COFPAES Federal Markets Conference

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Reston, VA, September 13, 2011 - A number of key Federal agencies will brief individuals from the architecture, engineering, surveying, and mapping communities on upcoming contracting opportunities at the COFPAES Federal Markets Conference.

COFPAES (www.cofpaes.org), the Council on Federal Procurement of Architectural & Engineering Services, will host the one-day look at where the work is Thursday, September 22, 2011.

"We are pleased to announce that we have confirmed the participation of top architecture-engineering (A/E) professionals and contracting officials from key agencies, such as the US Army Corps of Engineers, NAVFAC, the Air Force, GSA Public Buildings Service, FHwA, Bureau of Prisons, BLM, MCC, OBO, and AID. The COFPAES Federal Markets Conference will attract representatives of leading firms in the A/E and related services field that are seeking procurement opportunities in these Federal agencies," said John Palatiello, COFPAES Administrator.

Each invited government agency will present information on its current program, the anticipated FY12 budget, and the agency's requirements for acquisition of A/E services from the private sector are on the horizon.

The conference will be held at The American Institute of Architects, 1735 New York Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20006.

"At a time of high unemployment, particularly in construction-related fields, and pressure on government budgets, firms need to know where there are contracting opportunities. The COFPAES conference will help fill that need," said Palatiello.

A limited number of seats are still open for the conference.  Registration is just $195. To register for the conference, go to: http://cofpaes.org/JAECFC.php.
