Renowned defense technology firm and acclaimed film star support the Navy SEALs and their families

Lani Hay, president and CEO of  Lanmark Technology, Inc. (LMT), and the Navy SEAL Foundation have joined forces with a national public service announcement (PSA) in conjunction with the upcoming release of "Captain America: The First Avenger" by Marvel Entertainment and Paramount Pictures. The PSA, written by LMT Creative Director Brian Krow, features the soon-to-be-released summer blockbuster's star Chris Evans, in support of the Navy SEALs and their families.

Chris Evans PSA The PSA made its military audience debut over Memorial Day weekend in New York City during Fleet Week on the historic USS Intrepid. This naval ship is now designated as a national historic landmark as well as one of America's leading historical, cultural, and educational institutions. The PSA may be viewed here.

"When it comes to our Special Operations community, the Navy SEALs are the ultimate warriors," said Hay. "Over the years, the character of Captain America, as created by iconic graphic novelist Stan Lee, has been used to represent the ultimate military warrior and leader. Just as Captain America stood for the unwavering commitment, incredible skill and courage of our nation's military during the World War II, so does he now take his place in modern history as a symbol of our nation's strength and resolve."

The PSA kicks off a series of promotions for the July 22, 2011 release date of "Captain America" that will include an event honoring Marvel graphic artist Stan Lee at the Lanmark Technology Music Lodge during Comic-Con 2011, July 21-22 in San Diego. The film's star, Chris Evans, and the Navy SEAL Foundation will also participate in the event to commemorate Lee's support of our nation's military.

"The Navy SEAL Foundation is honored to join forces with the iconic patriotism of 'Captain America'," cites Jim Smith, executive director of the Navy SEAL Foundation. "These SEAL warriors are at the tip of the spear in the global war on terror. They regularly exhibit extraordinary tactical acumen, absolute courage, unflappable resolve, model ethos and a thorough dedication to the mission. Our commitment to honor these warriors and support their families is key to our combined mission success. Our proud nation, through patriotic and generous donors, provides the resources where 95 cents of every dollar donated is dedicated to our pillar programs of education, morale, health and welfare. Much like the operators we support, the Navy SEAL Foundation cannot, and will, not fail. Please join us in honoring those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice and their humble SEAL teammates while they fight beyond the next ridgeline and help us support their loved ones waiting here at home."
