Happy Holidays!

It has been another inspiring year here at Emergence Pictures.  From travels to China and Spain for our documentary film projects, to featuring some of the top nonprofits in Minnesota for their innovation, anti-racism initiatives, advocacy, responsive philanthropy, and overall excellence (large and small nonprofits), to helping the City of Minneapolis spread the word about their multicultural storytelling initiative, to helping launch an innovative social commerce network called buythechange.com (read more about them below), to many other projects large and small, 2008 has reinforced our belief in the power of video and film to move people and change our world.

For this update, we wanted to share our client buythechange.com and give our friends and supporters the opportunity to become part of this exciting social commerce network, known as "classifieds with a conscience".  Maybe you can find that last-minute holiday gift while supporting our local communities?!

Have you bought the change???

Thank you all for your continued support and business.  2009 is already revealing itself as another year of inspiration, starting with a project on mental health and potential for international travel.  Beyond the work that Emergence Pictures is doing for its clients, I am now teaching "Filmmaking for Social Change" as Adjunct Faculty at Ottawa University in Kansas.  This is an exciting opportunity to share what I've learned over the years, while brushing up on the basics through teaching, plus a fun 12-day trip to Sundance in mid-January with the students to watch some of the most exciting documentary films of 2009!

We hope you and your family are taking this time to reconnect and relax.  We look forward to more growth, sharing, and learning in 2009!

Happy Holidays!

Peace,
