We are excited to announce that Lori Barbero, of the famed rock band Babes In Toyland, has joined our team to develop the soundtrack for The Red Tail (More about her below). Lori immediately went to work and over the past month has received enthusiastic responses from some big name musicians, as well as emerging acts. We are thrilled beyond measure for this opportunity to collaborate with musicians and support each other!

    Who is Lori Barbero?

Lori Barbero was the co-founder and drummer for Babes in Toyland, a hard rock band from Minneapolis. They were some of the precursors of what came to be known in the early 1990s as RiotGrrl, a subgenre of grunge music. In 1990, Babes in Toyland toured with Sonic Youth throughout Europe. The group's break into the national scene came in 1992 with the release of their first full-length album Fontanelle and inclusion in the documentary film 1991: The Year Punk Broke. The following year, they joined bands including Dinosaur Junior, Alice in Chains, and Rage Against the Machine for Lollapalooza 1993. Since the band?s breakup, Barbero has been deeply committed to the independent music scene in Minnesota and around the world. She has also been in half a dozen other bands; Sean Na Na, Eggtwist, The Willis Project and most recently, Koalas. Nobody plays drums like Lori. Then there are the more recent incarnations; Lori as DJ, Lori as party promoter, there are even some rumors about her work as a paramilitary operative, but those have yet to be confirmed.

Partners Invited . . . That Means You!

The most powerful projects are collaborative. To keep The Red Tail true to its intent to give a voice to working-class America your partnership is needed. I welcome your advice and input. YOU are critical to making sure this story gets told.

Here?s The Red Tail wish list:

? To identify a spokesperson, a highly visible person willing to join in promoting our film and the struggles of working class America.

    ? To raise $125,000 by February 28, 2007

? To continue to generate a high volume of traffic to www.redtailmovie.com

? To stay on schedule with our pre-production and shooting timeline.

    Meet Melissa Koch . . .
    MelissaKoch

We are proud to introduce you to Melissa Koch, a woman whose personal connection to this story will put a personal face on this global story.

With a passion for the off-center, Melissa Koch isn?t your typical working-class girl but don?t be fooled by first impressions. At age 24, with a borrowed camera and a serious sense of indignation, she sets out to understand the loss of thousands of jobs in her community, including her father?s. The Red Tail follows this extraordinary young woman as she explores the trail of broken dreams left by a powerful corporation, while rediscovering the meaning of family and just how far they will go for one another. Through the lens of the Northwest Airlines struggle and its impact on one inspiring family, The Red Tail explores the systemic destruction of the working-class in America and the impact of globalization on us all.
