Greetings!
Happy Holidays! I'm having a hard time believing it is
already December. This past year has been a time of
incredible change and growth. From the closing of my
former company, Aquaries Media, to the birth of Emergence
Pictures, there is so much to be thankful for and look forward
to in the new year.
In this month's Emerging Stories, I am excited to introduce
you to two more incredible organizations that I have the
honor of being associated with, as well celebrate the career
of one of Minnesota's most respected public servants.
I hope that your 2006 has been a year of blessings
and joy. It is an exciting time to be alive and helping to tell
the
stories of those who make our world great!
Peace,
Dawn

Guild Incorporated
|
|
Giving Hope to Life.
This month we'd like to introduce you to our client
Guild
Incorporated
Guild Incorporated is a health and human services
organization that exists to help people with mental
illness
lead quality lives.
This fall Emergence Pictures worked with Guild
Incorporated
on an innovative video that introduced the audience
to the
experience of having a psychotic break, as well as two
women whose stories speak to the importance of
support and
reducing the stigma that surrounds mental illness.
This
creative take on the experience of a psychotic break
was
done through a recording of "voices" that one might
hear
during such a break and the innovative use of a fish
eye
lense
by Director of Photography, Adrian Danciu. You can
see this
video on the Emergence Pictures website. Check it out!.
The video premiered at a breakfast benefiting
Guild Incorporated on October 26. Mental illness
affects
every age group, social class and educational level.
The
State of Minnesota estimates that in 2000 there were
88,680
people in Minnesota with mental illness of a
persistent and
disabling nature ? about 2.6% of the adult population.
With
the support and effective rehabilitation offered by
organizations like Guild Incorporated, individuals
can manage
their illness so that they can pursue their life
goals. We hope
you
will take the opportunity to learn more
about Guild Incorporated and watch their new video.

Celebrating Martin Olav Sabo
|
|
46 Years of Public Service
This fall Emergence Pictures was commissioned by the
office
of Martin Olav
Sabo to
create a short documentary celebrating the career of a
politician whose work was deeply respected by his
collegues
on both sides of the aisle .
Emergence's
crew (our
Director of Photography on this video was Nicholas
Kapanke)
spent
an afternoon interviewing Sabo's wife Sylvia, and
former
Minnesota Governor Wendell Anderson and uncovered the
story of a humble man whose work on behalf of
Minnesotans
is profound.
Check out
the story of Martin Olav Sabo.
