Register for the AFCP/CVC Golf Outing!
|

A highlight of the AFCP Conference is our annual golf outing held on
Saturday afternoon. Each year, free paper associates gather to play a
fun round of "best ball" golf as a way of ending an eventful and
entertaining conference. Tim Bingaman, president of Circulation
Verification Council, again hosts this event providing you with a great
golf course!
Don't worry if you're not the best golfer.
"Best Ball" is a great team game that allows golfers of all abilities
to play. If your handicap is in the upper three digits and you feel
your teammates are carrying the foursome, just offer to buy the drinks.
They'll think they have the best teammate of all.
This year we will be playing the Myrtlewood Golf Club course. Visit their website at www.myrtlewoodgolf.com.
Please
register for the golf outing by completing this online form. Green fees
are only $69 per person when you pre-register ($99 at the conference).
Green fees include 18 holes of golf, cart rental and lunch. Club
rentals are available at a separate charge.)
If you have a
group who you would like to have on your team, please note them below.
Otherwise, we will assign you to a foursome.

Richard Connor also is continuing his efforts to buy the Blethen Maine Newspapers.
From staff reports
March 13, 2009
The publisher trying to buy the Blethen Maine Newspapers has purchased a small monthly paper in suburban Wilkes-Barre, Pa.
Richard Connor, publisher of The Times Leader newspaper in
Wilkes-Barre, this week announced the purchase of the Back Mountain
Community News, a free paper.
Connor said he bought the community newspaper because it's
profitable and well-connected to readers and advertisers. The purchase
gave him the opportunity to hire the owner, Lisa Pretko, who will
become group publisher for six weekly newspapers in the area that are
owned by Connor's company, The Wilkes-Barre Publishing Co.
