Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Pink Hair For Hope LogoJoin the Elle Marie Hair Studio team this month in raising funds for a very worthwhile cause.  October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and for the second year in a row we are teaming up with So.Cap. USA as part of their Pink Hair For Hope campaign.  For a small $10 donation to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, we will gladly add a beautiful pink hair extension to your hair.  This small show of color provides a strong show of support for finding a cure for what the American Cancer Society (ACS) lists as the most common form of cancer among women in the United States.
 
Applying the hair extension takes no time at all so while we would prefer you to make an appointment, we should be able to accomodate you on a walk-in basis as well.

Leadership Team Announced
There is no denying that a salon's design team is its greatest asset.  At Elle Marie Hair Studio we have made it a point to identify a passion for the industry in our newer team members while truly appreciating the experience and knowledge that our senior level team has used to help shape our company since it's inception two years ago.  We decided to recognize those senior leaders recently and are proud to announce that Sarah, Stefani and Hollie are the first members of our brand new Senior Leadership Team.  The three of them have done an amazing job guiding Elle Marie and this move will further empower them to lend their unique professional perspectives to the continued growth of Elle Marie.

We recently received an e-mail that absolutely made our day.  Someone had nominated us for Evening Magazine's "Best of Western Washington" contest in the Hair Salon category.  It was anonymous so we would like to extend a warm thank you to whoever nominated us.

EM Demos Dynamic (Hair)Dos at the Mill Creek Festival
We are thrilled to once again have had the opportunity to participate in the Mill Creek Festival (6/12-6/13 at the Mill Creek Town Center).  Each year the event gets larger and larger and booth space gets harder and harder to come by.  Lucky for us, one of our owners, Jody, volunteered to be the Operations Co-Director this year.  He was able to stake out a unique location near The Bread Store for our first ever, fully themed, booth. 
 
Mill Creek FestivalWith Jody busy with festival coordination, Hollie stepped up and drove everything.  Not only did she completely decorate our canopy giving it a truly unique look, but she also arranged about a hundred small raffle giveaways, as well as one large gift basket.  In addition, models were staged off to the side where passersby were able to watch as members of the Elle Marie Design Team worked their magic to create some truly unique looks.
 
We had a great time and, as always, can't wait for next year!  Note for next year however...I think we'll pass on the fancy Elle Marie temporary tattoos.  They were fun but simply refused to stick to suntan lotioned arms!  We have some left over at the salon if anyone is just dying to have one...only a couple thousand though so you'd better hurry.

  • 10/08 - Hollie and Lorry are off to Redken 5th Avenue in New York this month for an intense 3-day hands-on class covering haircoloring techniques.
  • Coming 1/09:  Buzz is building in the salon for the bi-annual Redken Symposium in Las Vegas.  At this point it looks like the entire team is going to be able to take advantage of this amazing opportunity to learn from and schmooz with the best and brightest in our industry.  We can't wait!
