If you haven't been to the salon recently, then it's been a while since you've heard from us. Our last message came at the beginning of December to celebrate the holiday season and since then we've been busy!!!

December was out of control with everyone gearin' up for holiday parties. We had a record month, but still found time to break away for an incredible night on the town at Teatro Zinzanni. We then closed out the year by selecting the winner of our first official promotion, the Client Referral Program, which was an amazing success.

As is customary in the industry, things slowed down a bit in January. We took advantage of the downtime and sent five members of our team to Las Vegas for the 2007 Redken International Hair Symposium. We’re also very excited to have added a new member to our front desk staff whose colorful personality and professionalism will surely make you feel welcome on each and every visit.

Now, with February upon us, we find ourselves in month seven starting the second half of our first full year of operation. Looking back, we couldn’t have scripted the first six months any better. Our staff has stepped up with enthusiasm to every challenge we’ve thrown their way and our relationship with the wonderful people at KRS Consulting continues to keep us groovin’ in the right direction. As a matter of fact, we’re thrilled to announce that last Saturday was our best day ever! So if that’s any indication, this second half is going to be one wild ride.

Thank you for being a part of our journey. Here’s wishing you and your partner a Valentine’s Day full of love and romance. Be spontaneous. Run barefoot through fountains together. Hide a love letter on their car seat. Have a picnic in your living room. If you get roses, scatter the petals all over the bed (trust me, he won’t mind). But whatever you do - and this is a biggie - don’t let ‘em mess up your hair!

Congratulations to Jerilyn Q. of Mill Creek - the winner of our very first Client Referral Program promotion. She received a Product (RED) iPod nano, complete with a personal engraving on the back from Elle Marie.

On December 17th, the Elle Marie crew got all gussied up at the salon, threw on some boas, then headed downtown for a night at the theater like no other! Teatro Zinzanni's was the destination and if you've ever been there, you know what a riot it is. The show is very interactive with audience members often being called up on stage. Starving for attention, as always, Lisa practically begged to be chosen. Sure enough she got her wish...and she didn't disappoint. Be sure and ask her about her acting debut next time you're at the salon.

January 21st-23rd, five members of the Elle Marie staff traveled to Las Vegas for the biennial Redken Symposium 2007. The event was held at the beautiful Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino and featured the top talent in the hair industry. Jody, Colleen, Stefani, Emily and Lorry attended seminars ranging from salon layout and advertising strategies to cut and coloring techniques. Saturday night included a kickoff celebration where they introduced all of the event speakers who escorted models down the runway and ultimately unveiled the amazing new line of Redken products. Sunday night Redken hosted a party featuring none other than Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas. All in all it was an amazing educational opportunity and we can't wait to do it again in 2009!
