1/43 Senna Taxi

AYRTON SENNA RACING CAR COLLECTION:
After winning the 1991 British Grand Prix at Silverstone in his Williams Renault FW14, Nigel Mansell interrupted his victory lap to give friend and rival Ayrton Senna a ride back to the pits after Senna's McLaren ran out of fuel on the final lap. The scene was immortalized by world wide television coverage and track photographers who captured the unique gesture for the ages. Minichamps has followed up their previous 1/18 scale commemorative of that scene with a beautifully detailed 1/43 scale version of the 'Senna Taxi' ($49.95).

Bryant Book PETER BRYANT BOOK SIGNING - SATURDAY, APRIL 5:
One of the most interesting racing books of 2007 was 'Can-Am Challenger', the autobiography of London born Peter Bryant, who began his racing career as a fabricator for Colin Chapman's Lotus team in the early sixties. Along the way, Bryant would wrench sports, Indy and Grand Prix cars before designing the innovative Ti 22 and Shadow Can Am cars to challenge the McLaren juggernaut in the late 1960s and early 1970s.

Peter will be making his second appearance here at TMC on April 5. Those of you who attended our Pete Lyons 'Can Am' book signing many years ago will remember Bryant's story telling abilities as he entertained one and all with anecdotes from his checkered career at the banquet held in Lyons's honor that evening. Most of these stories made it into 'Can-Am Challenger', making the book an interesting and extemely entertaining read.

We hope to see you there, but if you can't make it or live outside the Chicago area, signed copies can be reserved (at no additional charge) by calling TMC at 800.722.8630 or by clicking the title above and ordering on line.

If you plan on attending the signing and would be interested in an evening of more tall tales, drop me an email or give us a call during business hours.

Martini908/3
1/18 SCALE PORSCHE 908/3 FROM AUTO ART:
At long last, examples of Auto Art's 1/18 scale series of Porsche 908/3's have been released in the past couple of months. The most striking of which, in our opinion, is the #4 Martini Racing 908/3 as driven at the Nurburgring in 1971 by Dr. Helmut Marko and Gijs van Lennep. Also available are the #2 Siffert/Bell Gulf 908/3, also from the '71 Nurburgring race and the #7 Siffert/Redman Gulf 908/3 as raced at the 1971 Targa Florio. Each model is priced at $119.95 plus shipping.

WEBSITE ADDITIONS: Last November, we (finally) added Online Shopping software to our www.MotorsportCollector.com website, allowing customers to place orders using the familiar 'shopping cart' system seen almost everywhere else. Initially, approximately 500 items from our inventory could be accessed using this system.

Over the past couple of months, hundreds of additional items, both old and new, have been added to this selection. As of today, more than 1,400 in-stock items are listed on our Online section, with more items being added on a daily basis (we expect to have several thousand items listed by Spring).

If you've been visiting the site regularly, you'll notice that most of the additions have been placed in the Artwork and Model sections. Much of the artwork has not been featured online before and many of the models have been snapped up by Collectors rediscovering some hard to find items.

If you haven't visited the Online Shopping pages lately, take some time to surf around a bit. You may just find something that fills that gap in your collection.

One small tip: To easily access the latest additions to the 'shopping cart' pages, click the New Products Category link on the left hand side of the Online Shopping Front Page.
