Q: When did Steak Escape start grilling its food exhibition style?
A: That's how we've always done it. Initially, it was by
necessity. The first Steak Escape store was so small that the only place the
grill fit was right in front of the counter. Customers loved watching their meal as it was prepared, so we've stuck
with it.

Steak Escape got its start in Columbus, Ohio, in 1982 and
remains headquartered there today. Other "firsts" from our state include the traffic
light, Teflon, cash registers, hot dogs, police cars and ambulance service.
