2012 British Open Recap

As excited as I was to see Ernie Els win the British Open, I felt bad for Adam Scott losing, especially the way he did by bogeying the last four holes. I don't think anyone can imagine what type of pressure Adam felt as he was on the verge of winning his first ever major. Although it was on a much smaller scale, I had a similar finish. I competed in the 2010 PGA National Championship and only needed to play the last three holes in two over par to qualify for the 2010 PGA Championship. I finishied bogey-double bogey-bogey and missed by two- needless to say, I was very dissapointed. There is a short video that shows me competing in this event as well as the intterview I did following it with the Golf Channel. Click here to see video
A big part of golf is not the score you shoot, but how you conduct yourself on the course and the lessons that you learn. Adam was very gracious and acted with as much class as one could hope for followign that finish.  As a result, I have much more respect for Adam Scott with the way he handled himself after the event by finishing second than if he had won.

Troubled lies around the green

If you ever find yourself with a poor lie around the green and immediately reach for your sand wedge, this video could be very helpful as it gives you another way to play these shots with a lot more margin for error.

PGA Tour Player Swing of the Month

Watching Ernie's swing in slow motion does not do it justice. One of his biggest attributes is the wonderful rhythm he has which is really beneficial when it comes to competing on the final day of a major. Ernie has always been a great ball striker, but struggled a bit with his putting including the final day of the British Open until he made that clutch putt on the 18th hole to make birdie. Hopefully he can continue his great play in the upcoming PGA Championship and for many years to come.
