My first introduction to golf was from my grandfather at the age of 7. He loved golf and all it had to offer. Whenever he visited, we would always have pitching contests in the backyard with small wagers as to who could land the ball in a small trash can that we set up. Although I was not that much into golf at that age, I really enjoyed the time we spent together and look fondly back at those memories after his passing. Around the age of 12, I began to take golf seriously and gave up the other sports (tennis, soccer, baseball, and basketball) that I had enjoyed playing before. I began to play golf on a fairly regular basis with my dad. Although neither one of us were very good at the time, we always found it to be a wonderful bonding experience and a tremendous opportunity to discuss things that we might not otherwise talk about. I look back very fondly at my golf experiences with my father and grandfather and hope that I will share similar experiences with my two sons in the future.
