Inspire, Involve, Invest - Are You In? Survey for all Families
Your input is requested from the District Council by Wednesday, April 18th. Earlier this year, the Menlo Park-Atherton Education Foundation (MPAEF) and the Parent-Teacher Organizations (PTOs) from the four schools (Laurel, Encinal, Oak Knoll and Hillview) in our Menlo Park City School District collaborated on the "INspire, INvolve, INvest - Are You IN?" fundraising campaign.
The Are You IN? campaign's intent was to provide families with a more complete picture of the financial needs of our schools and school district and to underscore the importance of donating to each of the organizations that support our schools: the PTOs and the MPAEF. By presenting the information from both organizations together and in a clear way we hoped this would allow families to better plan their donations related to the Menlo Park City School District for the year.
We ask all District families to take this survey to help the PTOs and MPAEF be as effective as possible in their future efforts to raise funds for the benefit of our children's education. The survey takes 5 minutes. Your feedback is very important to us. Please click here to take the survey by Wednesday, April 18th. Thank you in advance for your help. |

Encinal Site Council Vacancies for Sep. 2012 to Jun. 2014
The Encinal Site Council is looking for four parent representatives to serve a two year term on the Encinal Site Council from September 2012 - June 2014. Meetings are held once a month during the school year on Wednesdays from 3:15-4:30 PM. New members also will be asked to attend the May 9, 2012 Site Council meeting to meet current members and learn more about initiatives already in process.
The Site Council is a representative group of parents and staff members charged with identifying and implementing curriculum and instructional practices that strengthen the academic program, and ensuring that all students have access to and success in that program. Responsibilities include: - Developing a school improvement plan and matching budget for using resources to increase learning
- Submitting the plan to the School Board for review and approval
- Communicating with the school and community regarding the plan
- Monitoring and updating the plan
Four Site Council members will be established by May 4, 2012. If more than four parents express interest, the Council will select members through a school-wide election and/or the appointment of members to ensure that membership includes broad representation of all socioeconomic and ethnic groups within the school attendance area. Interested parents should contact Kelly Perri, Site Council Chair at kellyperri@yahoo.com by Friday, April 20 and submit a brief paragraph of interest describing the reasons why they are interested in joining the Encinal Site Council. If an election occurs, these paragraphs will be used to create a description of candidates on the ballot. |
