No School This Friday - Enjoy Veterans Day Holiday

The Menlo Park City School District will be on holiday this Friday, Nov. 11, to celebrate Veterans Day.  

Book Fair Safari Ends Thursday - Open Wed Evening

Encinal's "Book Fair Safari" ends this Thursday, November 10. Proceeds go to buy books for the Encinal Library. There will be extended shopping hours on Wednesday night during the Family Reading Event and Encinal Spirit Wear will also be available. 


Wed 11/9   8:00am-4:00pm and 6:00-8:30pm

Thu 11/10  8:00am-2:00pm   

 

Volunteers are need to help pack up the book fair on Thursday from 2pm-4pm.  Please email BookFair@encinalschool.com or stop by to help.  

Family Reading Night for Grownups & Children: Wed. Nov. 9
Check In at Encinal Art Room at 6:15pm

Encinal parents, caregivers and children are invited to join Encinal teachers Maggie Sanchez, Rachel Naishtut, Petrina Jonas and Heidi Yamada as they guide you through the ins and outs of high quality read-alouds and a wide selection of great literature to do it with.

 

They will demonstrate reading strategies to the parents and provide tips on how to get the most out of the read-aloud experience with children. Children will be supervised in the Art Room - click here for family read childcare check-in form. Then parent and child will have a chance to test out these strategies as they cozy up and read together. Bring a book or browse the Book Fair and purchase a new one. Bring a blanket or cushion to read on.

6:00pm - Book Fair opens  

6:15pm - Check in begins for children at the Encinal Art Room (for parents going to presentation) 

6:30pm - Teachers present to parents in Large Multi

7:00pm - Parents and children reunite to practice reading strategies or visit the Book Fair 

8:30pm - Book Fair closes

One Warm Coat Drive Ends Thursday
  
one warm coatGirl Scouts will be collecting gently used or new coats for children and grownups to support the One Warm Coat Drive through Thursday. Collection containers are at pick-up/drop-ff and on campus. Collected items will be donated to Encinal's Caring & Sharing and to the Shelter Network of San Mateo County. The Lost and Found is located on the wall of Room 26, across from the large multipurpose room.
