| Life Skills Program at Encinal - A Role for Parents Too!

Encinal will join the other district schools in a year-long Life Skills program funded by the MPAEF through a Jeannie Ritchie Grant. Each month the entire school will read the same book that will reinforce a life skill for that month. The school will promote and educate on that life skill, and parents are encouraged to invite discussions about it at home. This month the life skill is Happiness. Click here to learn more.
Do you want to support the happiness theme at home? We have a book for you to read too. It is called Raising Happiness by Christine Carter. Please note this book is different form the one the students are reading at school. Nicole Scott will be meeting with interested parents to discuss the book beginning the week of Sept. 12th and ending the week of October 10th. Meetings will happen at Encinal on Mondays in Room 6 from 8:30-9:30am and at Oak Knoll on Wednesday in the Oak Knoll Staff Room from 1:30-2:30pm. Meetings will be open to parents from both schools.
Here's the meeting schedule:

Week of Sept. 19th - Chapters 3 and 4
Week of Sept. 26th - Chapters 5 and 6
