Welcome to another issue of my Ultimate Body
Newsletter. As I write this, the weather outside is
warm and it just feels like Spring is around the corner.
I hope that you have taken the time to change your life
through fitness and I hope that you are enjoying the
benefits of a new you. If not, there is still time to make
changes. Summer doesn't start officially until June
21st (my birthday) so we can still make changes!
This week we visit the concept of what it takes to
really "change." We also take a look at what makes
the UB experience unique and different. Joseph writes
about the difference between quitting and failing (and
there is a difference.) You will also find information
about Ultimate fit Club, the next UB Networking Event,
a UB Party that we are having and much, much more.
Please use the "forward" link at the bottom of this
email to send it to at least one other person. And, as
usual, thank you for allowing me and my trainers to do
what we love to do!

At UB, we training instructors try to arm you with all of
the know-how that you need to continue down your
fitness path forever. This makes for a major contrast
between receiving the type of training at our studio and
receiving that of a garden-variety commercial gym. On
the whole, I feel that commercial gyms, which is
where I used to work, want to help
you but keep you dependent on receiving training from
them so that you will continue buying training
packages from them for as long as you can afford it.
The UB experience, on the other hand, is more
educational and, therefore, more worthwhile in my
opinion, preparing you for continuing the workouts and
healthy eating style on your own.
At some of the popular commercial gyms, clients do
indeed receive menu plans and cardiovascular and
strength training prescriptions; however, one large
drawback is that clients are dependent on following
menu plans created by other people rather than those
created by the clients themselves. Contrarily, at UB,
since you are required to make healthy food choices
on your own, things are much different, involving more
hands-on skills from you. At our studio, you have to
learn about choosing optimal gram amounts of the
macronutrients protein, carbohydrates and fat as well
as learning about how to determine daily caloric-
intake amounts. At a commercial gym, in contrast,
training does not necessarily require you to become
skilled at any of this.
An additional key advantage in receiving UB training is
the sizable accountability factor. This has made us
very popular and in my opinion has put us in an elite
training class rarely matched. We hold you highly
accountable in terms of food intake and attendance to
the studio, to the group, and to your partner.
Regarding attendance, we intentionally make skipping
classes for unwarranted reasons difficult and, hence,
not really worth the effort, making attending class a
much easier choice. Concerning food-intake
accountability, we try to encourage you to make only
smart, healthy food choices. This is the useful
knowledge that you need to continue your quest
throughout your lifetime.
Lastly, a major plus of UB training is the team
atmosphere inherent in each class. This creates
camaraderie, leading to a very strong, positive sense
in putting forth your best effort for yourself and the
team. One-on-one training clients hardly ever feel this
sense of group belonging.
As your rite of passage toward your ultimate body
continues, please be mindful that you have joined a
very special, successful program targeted to get you to
your goal as fast and as safe as possible. To guide
you through your journey, we have top-notch
instructors with proven track records and special skill
combinations that not every trainer at just any gym
possesses. Additionally, we hope that your life-
changing experience will positively influence people
who interact with you on a daily basis. You are the
reason why we train at UB, and you are the reason
why we love our jobs so much.
If you are not currently in the UB program, consider
joining today. It is not just a workout, it truly is
an "experience."

| Ultimate Fit Club News |
 |
|
It has been said that the recent Ultimate Fit Club
workouts have been some of the best, most intense
that any UB'er has ever had. I believe that to be true.
Each week the workouts change and no one leaves
without feeling like they were fully pushed to their own
limits.
The UB Fit Club meets each Saturday at 10:00 AM at
the Frisco studio. You must be a UFC Member in
order to attend. If you are UFC, come on in. We have
the first round of UFC Polo Shirts in and have your
website, email, message board etc. underway!
Remember, Ultimate Fit Club really means Ultimate
Body VIP and that's how we will treat you! If you are
not currently in UFC but feel that you are UFC material,
you may apply by making your desires known to any
UB Trainer. We meet each Saturday and discuss
applicants. If you are approved, we will let you know
and bring you into the "inner circle."

| New UB Menus at Local Restaurants |
 |
|
We currently have our own menus at Two Brothers
(located at Preston and Main in Frisco) and the Solare
Spa and Cafe (located at Legacy and Lebanon in
Frisco.) Stop by and look for our menu for some very
healthy UB approved foods!
Soon we will also have our menus at three other local
restaurants including The Abbey Grill, Manny's and
Thai Frisco (soon to be called Zak 8 Thai.) We will let
you know when these menus are in place for you!

Why Do People Fail? I call this a trick
question because people do not fail,
they quit. A bridge can fail, but it never quits. It has
ceased to do that for which it was designed. People
however, try something and when it does not work for
them as planned they simply walk away in despair
and quit. What they did not realize is that they simply
found a way that did not work. If they would have
continued then they could have found a way that did
work.
It is inherent for all living things to always be doing
something. We as humans cannot stand a minute of
the day not being filled with some type of activity. Even
in those times where there is no physical activity, you
will find your mind working. We are continually moving
and changing, whether toward or away from
something. Many of us get stuck in our comfort zone.
What we do not realize is that there is no permanent
comfort or security. Whatever we have, we are making
for ourselves. Few, if any, are guaranteed life-long job
security and health. Knowing this should cause each
and every one of us to continually strive to better our
conditions. It takes as much effort to remain in our
comfort zone as it does to stretch and become all we
are capable of being.
I bet your thoughts right now are moving along the
lines of - "Well, it certainly doesn't take any effort to
plant my backside on the couch and watch my
television shows." Doesn't it? All that is, is a
momentary distraction from the same old things you
do at work day in and day out, from your financial
problems to your family problems and any
combination of other things.
How effective has this temporary distraction been up
to this point in your life? If you need temporary
distractions to keep you going, you cannot be
satisfied. Dissatisfaction, when faced, can be a strong
determinant in the success you will ultimately
experience in your life.
When there is enough dissatisfaction you will do
something to eliminate it. An individual sitting on a
warm stove has no incentive to move. Heat that stove
to 400 degrees and watch that person move. Strong
dissatisfaction with your life can do the same thing - it
will get you moving.
Life is forever moving. You either advance or you
regress. There is no standing still. The choice of the
direction your life will take is yours to make. Nobody
else can make that choice for you. You will find that
once you have made a commitment to doing
something, the only thing capable of stopping you is
you. No matter how disappointed you have been in the
past with yourself, the way to get positive results is
with positive expectations. So move, forward that is!
Remember that there is a new cycle of Ultimate Body
starting Monday the 26th of February. Is this your next
move forward?

| Ultimate Body Events Scheduled |
 |
|
There are several events coming up at Ultimate Body
including the monthly UB Networking Meeting on
Saturday March 3, 2007 at 10:00 in the Frisco Studio. If
you have a profession or a business that you would
like to network, this is a prime opportunity. It seems
that UBTers like to work with someone that they trust
or share something in common with. The last meeting
was a huge success. Both current and former UBTers
are welcome to the event. Plan on being here for an
hour in this informal networking event. Bring plenty of
business cards.
Also on March 3 at 7 PM we will have the next big UB
get together at "Indoor Bounce Party" located at 101
Dylan Dr. in Prosper which is about five minutes north
of Main St. Frisco. Kids, friends, family and anyone
else you know is welcome to come. There is pizza and
soft drinks so maybe this is a good time to plan a
cheat meal! If you think you are coming to this event,
please call us or sign your name on the list by the
front door at UB Frisco. Remember, current and
former members, their friends, family and anyone else
is invited to join us!

Changes |
|
|
|
If I were to say that things have been changing in my
world lately, that would be an the understatement of
the century. Between opening new studios, adding
classes, changing staff, changing our billing system
and many other things, it has been crazy. Mind you, I
am not complaining. I'm just saying that in my little
world, there have been a massive dose of changes
lately and that's what I am writing about this month.
I was in one of our local Frisco restaurants
recently and I was just amazed at how many people
were there who were severely over weight. Each time
I
see a person like that, my heart drops. I feel like going
up to them and offering my program for free. In fact, I
have done that in the past, but with very limited
success.
You see, in order for a person to change, they have to
WANT to change. All too often we get comfortable with
where we are or doubt our ability to ever make a
change. Perhaps sometimes it is that we feel like the
change will be too much effort. Even though we know
we need to make that change, the very thought of it
makes us run the other way and ultimately live in a
manner that is not what we really want.
If you are one of those who is in dire need of change,
perhaps some real serious sit down and talking to
yourself time is in order. Find a few minutes when no
one is around. No kids, no adults, no one but you and
a mirror. Then look at yourself and let every bit of
honesty within yourself come out. Tell yourself what
you really want, what you really need.
The next step is the hardest of all, implementation.
This is and always has been the most difficult part of
change. This is the "crossing the bridge" part of the
game. You should note though, that this is not only the
hardest bridge to cross, but is is also the bridge that
will lead you to the most significant and most fulfilling
changes you can possibly make.
Simply decide to cross the bridge. I am sure that it will
be a challenge, but I am also sure that you are up to it.
In that, I have no doubt. You are a person who has
untapped strength inside. You have potential that
goes
beyond what you need to make the changes that you
desire. So, stop waiting. Start talking honestly. Make
decisions and follow through. I know you won't be
disappointed. In fact, I believe that you will amaze
yourself and wonder why you didn't make those
changes before.
There is a new cycle of the Ultimate Body
Transformation starting Monday the 26th of February. If
you come to the determination that physical changes
are what you need, we can help. We have literally
helped hundreds upon hundreds of people over the
years towards their Body Transforming goals. I am
sure that we can help you. But remember, you can
only
change when you decide that it is time.
Remember, when you
make that decision, I am here, waiting for you!
