Shop Watch
Those of you that have read my newsletter for any
length of time know that I seldom recommend a
product. This one however I looked at last week and
was totally impressed. Shop watch is a wonderful
way to schedule work and improve productivity. It
improves handling of special ordered parts as well as
loaner vehicles. Shops that control available
technician time will always gross more and maximize
parts sales for the dealership. I love the way the
customer can interact with this program and
recommend it to any shop with at least two advisors.
When watching the features of this program in the
back of my mind I was saying "Ok it's wonderful but it
must cost a fortune". When learning of the reasonable
cost I must say this is a no brainer that will pay for the
cost in many ways if used properly. I informed the
company this would be in my newsletter and they very
generously offered a minimum $250 discount to all
readers that ask. Contact Paul Morris for more
information at paul.morris@autoeforms.com . His cell
phone is 814-449-1899.

Greetings!
Most dealers by now know if the manufacturer has
decided to keep them as a customer. The chosen
ones allowed to continue see a future with improved
margins and less competition. They understand fixed
operations hold the key to achieve dealership
profitability. Fixed operations must be a source of
consistent profits for the dealership to survive current
market conditions. Investment in equipment and
training will be critical to achieve these results.
Customers demand a quality customer service
experience and will not settle for less.

| Growing Counts with Fleet Business |
| |
Everyone is looking for new ways to grow repair order
counts in this market. Using fleet maintenance
programs to build repair order counts is a wonderful
way to add customer pay work. Here is a list of four of
the largest. GE Vehicle Maintenance Management
800- 328-0244 Wheels Inc 847-699-7000 Donlen
Corporation 847-714-1400 Networkfleet 858-450-
3245
These companies send fleet vehicles to shops that
provide maintenance, repairs, body shop work, and
warranties. They also send courtesy new car vehicles
to dealerships. Ask to become a preferred vendor and
fill out the required paperwork. They also have body
shop work as well for preferred vendors
Extended Warranty Companies also have work to
send that will build customer pay work. Here are two
that sell direct to customers. Many dealerships have
refused this work in the past however it should be
considered as a way to develop new customers into
the dealership. Warranty Direct 800-621-2783
Certified Car Care Inc 800-335-2803 A good policy is
to notice repairs made by your customers with
coverage and do a follow up contact to be added to
their preferred vendor list. This list is intended as a
good place to begin. Let's get aggressive and find all
the customer pay work we can.
