Creating the Mood You Want,

from an Elegant Trio to a Swinging Sextet

A guide to help you and your friends preview the Magnolia Jazz Band

Hi, how do you like receiving this occasional update? Please make it a conversation opener, and send me a simple "hello".

Summer's over, and holiday parties are about 10 weeks away. Unbelievable!

Here we are (photo above) at the beautiful Kenyon Estate, in Vallejo, enjoying a terrific open house and wedding showcase at this lovely new facility. What a treat to play for some of our best colleagues and a roomful of brides-to-be.

Thanks to Mark and Donnel Peters (Peters Photography) and Jason Diavitis (Kenyon Estate) for the beautiful photos.

I'm finally blogging again. I've been swamped by dozens of "gotta do it now" projects, one of which was switching from using Blogger to using WordPress. This transfer is still FAR from complete, but I'm finally ready to "stick my foot in the door" and make an appearance.

In other words, I'm done procrastinating. Expect to see my blogging changes continue -- from major overhauls to cosmetic tweaks.

Do you write a blog? The best advice from my blogging friends seems to be that blogging is a marathon, not a sprint, and that I'm in it for the long haul. Slow and steady is fine with me. The whole point of this blog is to establish a solid online connection between you and me -- I'm a person with ideas and feelings, and who by the way happens to make a living as a musician.

Read my blog for more of my thoughts about "My First WordPress Blog".

By the way, will you be celebrating a significant event soon? Throw a party and include us. Call us at 408-245-9120. You'll love what we do. We're easy to work with, so let our experience help your celebration.

In the meantime, please catch us at our next public event. On Saturday, September 26, we'll be entertaining at Sunnyvale's Historical Park Museum. Please visit MagnoliaJazz.com for details on this event and more, and I hope we'll be working together soon.

And please keep this conversation going. Tell me what you think about today's little note. I'll reply to all your opinions and comments. For now, take a moment to find me on Facebook and follow me on Twitter. Want to catch us in action? If you haven't already, please visit my Facebook Page, become a fan, and you'll receive an update for each of our public appearances.
