 Dipping into Proust Kicks Off this Week

Marcel Proust The Library is pleased to announce the launch of Dipping into Proust, a multi-media series of programs based on Marcel Proust's In Search of Lost Time, better known as Remembrance of Things Past. Our series will focus on just the first book, Swann's WayClick here for a full schedule and information on how you can participate.

Concert: Parisian Impressions 
The Sherman Chamber Ensemble presents a musical program that will evoke the Paris of Proust's time, with works by Ravel, Saint-Saens, Debussy and others.  Performers are Stacey Shames (harp), Susan Rotholz (flute) and Eliot Bailen
(cello). A reception will follow the performances.  Registration requested

 

Dipping into Proust is co-sponsored with the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum and is made possible by the support of the Friends of the Ridgefield Library and the Wadsworth Russell Lewis Fund.

: Movement, music and rhymes for infants to 2 year olds with a caregiver. No registration.

Children in grades 4 & 5 get together to share the books they've been reading.  Snacks are served.

Play scrabble with a tournament experienced teacher. For children in grades 4 - 8. No registration.


Bookworms Thursday 4:30 PM Library Program Room
Bookworms
Readers in grades 2 & 3 are invited to discuss wonderful stories.  Snacks will be served.  Children sign-up at the Information Desk and pick up a copy of the book to be discussed. This week: The Skull Alphabet Book, by Jerry Pallotta.

Donations Now Accepted for Friends Book Sale
The next Friends of the Ridgefield Library Used Book Sale will take place October 19-22 at Yanity Gym, and donations are now being accepted.  You may bring your used books in good condition to the Library's Governor Street location during library hours only. Please separate children's books from other materials and pack all items into small boxes (liquor store boxes are perfect). Check the donation guidelines first.
It's Not Too Late to Reserve your Memento of the Old Library!
