JEFFERSON PARK HISTORIC HOME TOUR AND FESTIVAL
Admission:$10.00 children 12 & under free May 7, 2011 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm 1225 E. Lester
The Jefferson Park Neighborhood, three blocks north of the University of Arizona, will open one of Tucson's historic homes to the public for four hours. The $10.00 ticket will include the tour, live music, a silent auction, antique cars, refreshments, raffles and more.

FUNDRAISING BASICS: How to find funding to sustain your community projects Tuesday, April 19, 5 -7 pm United Way Boardroom 330 N Commerce Park Loop, Catalina building upstairs
You've worked hard to develop a great project, but you need to make sure that you have the funding to complete or sustain it. Where will you go? What will you do? This two-hour workshop will cover the basics of fundraising, including where charitable giving comes from and the strategies to bring funds to your organization. Learn the pro's and con's of different fundraising strategies and figure out which ones will work best for you. The workshop is presented by Jenny Carrillo, MA, CFRE, a local non-profit consultant and partner in Alexander | Carrillo Consulting, LLC. Jenny has worked in the non-profit sector for over 20 years and has helped dozens of non-profit organizations find the funding to do good work in our community.

This two hour workshop is designed for people who want to do a better job running meetings. Participants will work actively together to figure out how to solve problems typical of meetings that don't work well. Special attention will be paid to dealing with frustrating situations that keep meetings from being productive. Workshop examples use neighborhood activities of Communities Putting Prevention to Work, neighborhood efforts to increase healthy options and choices in nutrition and physical activity. The workshop is presented by Freda Johnson a local consultant with Rillito Consulting Group.

URBAN FARM VISIONING & HISTORY Thursday, May 12, 6 -7:30 pm Urban Farm 2405 S Cottonwood Ln
Come be a part of The Community Food Bank and City High School's plans to create a community-run food production farm and educational center. Participants will play a key role in the visioning, planning, construction, and food production at the Urban Gardens. A portion of this workshop will be dedicated to learning the history of this important area.

National Training This free workshop provides participants with an overview of the Safe Routes to School Program, how to use and apply crucial tools to improve the safety and convenience of walking and bicycling for students, and ideas for Safe Routes projects and applications. Participants who attend this session will receive 3 extra points on their future SRTS applications.
