What's New with Solstice Solar of Baja

Greetings y Saludos!

Time Change Alert!

For those of you who have a solar controller that has automatically changed to Daylight Saving Time, you will want to advance your operation time period by one hour to ensure efficient heating.  Solar noon, the peak time of solar radiation, is now around 1:15 p.m.

Planning Ahead for your Solar Project

One of the biggest mistakes homeowners make is not planning ahead for solar systems.  Often we make site visits after a home and pool have been built and we can't  install a system because they don't have adequate collector space or sun orientation. The home design phase is the best time to consult with a solar expert who can then collaborate with your building team.  Make your home and pool "solar ready" early in the planning stages for the most efficient and cost effective system.

Installation
Installation and your Solar Project
Installing solar collectors requires training and experience. Solstice Solar of Baja utilizes an installation model based on Florida's standard for "Hurricane Resistance".  While no one can predict the next "Big One" those of us who have lived here awhile understand the risks of living near the ocean and eventually will experience a hurricane.  While Solstice Solar of Baja can't provide a quarantee against damage from a  hurricane we do install  all our collectors using the best technology available to be hurricane resistant.

Solstice Solar uses careful drilling, sealing, and waterproofing techniques to avoid leaks.  In the photo above, a hole drilled in a concrete roof is being filled with SET (by Simpson) Concrete Epoxy.  Stainless steel hanger bolts will be imbedded to ensure a water-proof, high-strength anchoring system for the collectors.

Earth Day
"Every Day is Earth Day at Solstice Solar of Baja"

Happy Earth Day April 22, 2012

Make a commitment to protect the environment.  Recycle plastics or glass, drink from reusable water bottles, don't drive on the beach,  use less water, pick up your dog poop, convert to solar, organize a  clean- up- the- beach event, or save the turtles. We can make a difference!
