May is Walk / Bike Month!
In 1956, the League of American Bicyclists conceived an idea: A month-long celebration of all things cycling -- in order to support more people getting around by bike, and to increase cyclists' safety on the road.
Here in Vermont, we've taken National Bike Month one step further (see what we did there?) -- to include walking as well as cycling.
Join Mayor Weinberger to launch Walk/Bike Month!
Tuesday, May 1 (TODAY) Church Street Marketplace, on the south side of College Street
12:00 to 12:30 Arrive by bike for your chance to win FREE bike panniers!
Even if you can't make it to the event, we'll we'll be celebrating the joys of walking and biking all month long, with a variety of events for you and your family. This month's edition of Walk N Roll News features several of these opportunities, but we'll be adding more -- so be sure to visit and bookmark our special Walk / Bike Month page for a current list of activities.
You can also join us on Facebook to register for one of our family hike or bike events!
