Temporomandibular Joint |
The TMJ is the joint between your lower and upper jaw. To feel it moving, open and close your mouth while touching your face just in front of your ear.
The joint takes part in all actions of the mouth including chewing, yawning and talking. You also use your jaw for sucking, swallowing, kissing, smoking, laughing, singing and spitting: the good, the bad and the ugly.
If you have TMJ problems, there are simple ways to reduce your pain and prevent further damage to your TMJ. This article provides tips on exercises, positions and activities that help you recover. It lists some activites which you should avoid and ways to avoid injury to the joint in the future. | | [Click Here to Read More] |

Did You Know? |
Did you know that acupuncture can reverse a breech presentation in pregnancy? Approximately 3% of babies will be breech at some point in the pregnancy. Methods to turn them range from ice or frozen peas, music played toward the pubic bone, external manipulation, (which is usually painful), swimming and positioning.
Acupuncture and Moxabustion, provided by a well trained and experienced traditional Chinese medicine practitioner is a simple, painless, fast and effective method, typically achieving the result in 1 - 2 sessions.

ANTIOXIDANTS - PART 1: What are antioxidants? | |
Free radicals (pro-oxidants) are atoms or molecules with unpaired electrons. These highly reactive substances can be formed in a number of ways, and once formed they may use their reactivity to damage important cellular components - such as the cell membrane - or macromolecules like DNA. This damage can lead to mutation, impaired function, and even cell death. To minimize potential damage from free radicals, the body utilizes a defense system of antioxidants.
