CITY AFTER DARK-24 HOUR SCAVENGER HUNT
City After Dark was a giant city wide scavenger hunt. Girl Scouts met at the Amtrak Station in Bakersfield around 7:00pm and traveled around town, at each stop they received a clue and had to take a picture before they could proceed to the next destination. The night included tours of 24 hour businesses such as donut shops, grocery stores, television and radio stations, landmarks and gyms. The evening ended at Mc Donald's at 7:00am with a free breakfast for all the Girl Scouts.
Troop 3407's tour of Cold Stone Creamery included how the Creamery makes their own ice cream and how they add the flavors and coloring. The girls also learned that Cold Stone makes their own waffle cones and how the ice cream cakes are made.
(L to R): MACKENZIE, KELSI, AUBRI, COLD STONE MANAGER, MARISSA, ARIANA, AND TARA.
Thank you, Cold Stone Creamery, for the "scoop!"

Struggling With Homework
"LearningRx was a godsend for my son. We always knew he was very bright, but he continually struggled in an academic setting. Teachers would say he was not paying attention or just 'wasn't with' the class. Homework would take forever. Just a few weeks into the LearningRx program we saw improvement in his ability to get his homework done faster and remember what he needed to do. His grades improved and his self-esteem improved. He now has free time because homework doesn't take up so much time. His teachers have noticed that he pays attention better and accomplishes a lot more in class. We had been concerned about how he would handle the extra work and stress of Jr. High. Now we aren't worried anymore. Our son is ready for a bright academic future."
