 Cheese lovers rejoice: Recently discovered 40-year-old cheddar to be sold 


When Edward Zahn decided in May to close his cheese shop in Oconto, he made a discovery that is going to drive cheese lovers more bonkers than the 15-year-old cheddar released by Hook's Cheese in Mineral Point in 2009.

ONE OF 5 PROPOSALS TO REDEVELOP UNION CORNERS WITHDRAWN 

 

One of the five entities that had made a proposal to the city to redevelop the vacant Union Corners site on Madison's East Side has withdrawn its plan. C.D. Smith Construction of Fond du Lac/Eppstein Uhen Architects of Milwaukee informed city officials on Wednesday of its decision to pull out of the project.

 

PROPOSED WEIR FOUNDRY ON SOUTHEAST SIDE WOULD ADD 100 JOBS 

 

Mining equipment maker Weir Minerals wants to add a 90,000-square-foot foundry to its manufacturing operations on South Stoughton Road in Madison.

Marshfield-based Security Health Plan will start selling a Medicare Advantage plan in the Madison area in October, Security announced Monday.

PROPERTY TRAX: DANE COUNTY DISTRESSED HOME SALES WELL BELOW 30 PERCENT IN JULY, BUT STILL HISTORICALLY HIGH 

 


For the seventh month in a row, Dane County's Distressed Property Index was well below 30 percent. The index reading in July was 23.5 percent, down from a record-high 36.8 percent in July 2011, and down from 23.9 percent the previous month, June 2012.
