Developer Robert Dunn is moving to get a building permit for his $98 million redevelopment of The Edgewater hotel and estimates the project will produce 700 construction jobs starting around October.

With the completion on Wednesday of Hologic's $3.8 billion acquisition of San Diego-based Gen-Probe, the Bedford, Mass. company made it official: It will close Madison subsidiary Third Wave Technologies, ending 130 jobs.

CITY RECEIVES FIVE PROPOSALS FOR BLIGHTED UNION CORNERS SITE

 

In another sign of confidence in the city's economy, developers are proposing projects worth tens of millions of dollars at the Union Corners site that's long been a vacant blight on the East Side.
