Though public comment was limited to 15 minutes, two things were clear after eight speakers addressed the board: the subcontractors want to be paid, and the public does not want the village's investment in the hotel to fall on their shoulders.

PABST FARMS ROAD WORK UNDER WAY AT SAWYER ROAD INTERCHANGE

If you've noticed all the construction equipment along I-94 near Sawyer Road, at the Pabst Farms development in Oconomowoc, here's the deal:

The work is being done to create a road that connects that newly expanded interchange to Pabst Farms Circle, the perimeter road for the development, said Thad Nation, Pabst Farms spokesman.

WANGARD COMPLETES RIVERFRONT PURCHASE; APARTMENTS PLANNED

A group led by development firm Wangard Partners Inc. has completed its purchase of 2.7 acres overlooking the Milwaukee River, at N. Water and E. Brady streets. The new owners paid an undisclosed price for the land, where they plan to develop 150 to 175 apartments, along with commercial space, said Tony DeRosa, Wangard Partners vice president.

 PLAN FOR EAST SIDE APARTMENTS MOVES FORWARD

 

 

Dominion LLC's plan to build a five-story apartment building on Milwaukee's east side is to be reviewed by the Milwaukee Plan Commission on July 9. The building, proposed for 1509 N. Jackson St., will have 20 apartments and 26 enclosed parking spaces, according to plans filed with the Department of City Development. The units will be a mix of one-bedroom, two-bedroom and studio apartments.

INDUSTRIAL MARKET ABSORBS HALF-MILLION SQUARE FEET IN Q2

  

The southeastern Wisconsin industrial real estate market had positive net absorption of 553,168 square feet of space during the second quarter and the region's industrial rate dipped slightly to 7.33 percent, according to the Xceligent and Commercial Association of Realtors Wisconsin (CARW) second quarter report.

CONSTRUCTION SPENDING SOARS

Construction spending in May across the nation reached the highest level since December 2009 as widespread gains in private nonresidential construction, single-family and multifamily homebuilding more than offset a continuing downturn in public construction, according to an analysis of new federal data released today by the Associated General Contractors of America.
