We thank you for your support and look forward to continuing our work with you.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

For a number of years, Choices Psychotherapy has been providing Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) which includes individual therapy & group skills.  Until recently, only those with private/commercial insurance had this as a covered benefit.  Those clients who had either Medical Assistance, Minnesota Care, or a PMAP did not.

Recently, The State of Minnesota - Department of Human Services (DHS) established certification criteria and a process of application for DBT programs to comply with in order to provide DBT to those individuals that have Medical Assistance, Minnesota Care, or a PMAP.  Choices Psychotherapy has achieved this certification.

All clients regardless of insurance can be referred for DBT providing they are an adult, 18 +.  For more information about DBT please click on the quick link "counseling specialties".

Appointments can be made by calling 952-544-6806.

Holiday Stress
Most of us look forward to the holiday season, anticipating spending time with family and friends.  Often, the holidays can be accompanied by unpleasant or unwanted stress due to unmet expectations or feeling as though enough wasn't done for others.

This holiday season why not consider giving a gift to yourself of self care.  Make plans early as switching things up in the middle of planning, which often includes many people, can create undo stress and confusion.  Don't say yes to every invitation.  It is okay to say no and spend the time with yourself doing something you enjoy.  Many families only get together for the holidays and this is not the time to tackle big issues or difficult topics.

Most of all remember to breathe and relish in the delights of the season.
