Greetings! Now that summer has arrived I hope everyone is enjoying the amazing weather.

 

We are excited to share with you some changes that have taken place over the past few months at Choices Psychotherapy.  We have continued to expand and added 2 therapists to our outpatient clinic.  We are now also offering LMFT Clinical Supervision to Marriage and Family Therapy graduates who require supervision for licensure.  Please continue to read below regarding these new additions!

Worawan C. Turner, MA, LP

Worawan brings to Choices Psychotherapy clinical experience working with adults in both outpatient and residential settings.  Her specialties include Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), treatment of depression, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorders, SPMI, Co-Occurring Disorders (mental and chemical health), chemical dependency, relationship issues, life transitions, stress management, domestic violence, sexual abuse, trauma, women's issues, and divorce recovery. She speaks English, Thai fluently, and some Laotian.  Worawan is currently completing her Doctor of Psychology Degree at The University of St. Thomas with an anticipated graduation of 2013. 

 

Worawan provides DBT individual therapy and skills training groups. Her approach to working with clients includes Relational-Cultural Theory (RCT) integrated with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).   Worawan is strength-based and respects her client's autonomy.  She utilizes a collaborative approach and is culturally sensitive.  Worawan has extensive experience with individuals from different cultural backgrounds and works with adults 18.  Appointments can be made by calling 952-544-6806.

 

Janice Jordan, MA, LMFT

 

Janice has been with Choices Psychotherapy since she became an intern in 2007 after completing the Marriage & Family Therapy Certificate Program at St. Mary's University.  Janice has spent the last four years working with children and their families in our in-home program providing components of CTSS.  Now licensed, Janice will move into our outpatient clinic.   

 

Janice has over 25 years experience working with children and their families in non-therapeutic settings and has gained a rich understanding of the challenges today's families face.   

 

Janice works with grief & loss, aging & other life transitions, and relationship repair & enhancement.  She utilizes an integrative approach including Cognitive- Behavioral, Bowenian, Emotion Focused Family therapy, Structural, Experiential, Dialectical Behavioral Skills and Solution focused all embedded in a systems approach.  Janice works with children (5 and up), adolescents, families, adults and couples.  Appointments can be made by calling 952-544-6806. 


Mark Anderson, MS, LMFT

 

Clinical Supervision for Licensure


Mark has worked with children, adolescents, and adults for over 20 years.  He has experience with individuals, couples, and families.

   

Marks areas of practice include: depression and mood disorders, anxiety disorders including GAD, PTSD, OCD and panic disorder. Mark also offers anger/stress management, which involves cognitive behavioral interventions including biofeedback.

 

Mark has 10 years of experience providing and supervising in-home therapeutic services and 12 years of experience providing and supervising outpatient mental health.

 

In addition to direct practice, Mark will be providing clinical supervision for licensure track MFT clinicians.   He is approved to supervise by the Minnesota Board of Marriage and Family Therapy.

 

Mark will offer individual and dual supervision.  The cost for this is $80/hour.  Consultation can be scheduled by calling 952-544-6806.

NAMI Walks Minnesota

Choices Psychotherapy is proud to be a member of NAMI Minnesota and a supporter of the NAMI Walks 5k to be held on September 24th at Minnehaha Park.  The festivities begin at 11:30 AM and the walk begins at 1:00 PM.

The walk raises money to provide education and advocacy for children and adults with mental illness.  Individuals may walk alone, join a team or form a team.

The festivities include music, food, and numerous organizations with booths.  Please take some time to stop by our booth and see what we have to offer.

We encourage all who can to participate.
