Parent Teacher Home Visit Project Newsletter
2012 1st Quarter Newsletter

Issue 2-1

Greetings!
As the first quarter of 2012 winds down we find ourselves in a very interesting place.  As you read below you will see some amazing highlights of our journey across the nation over the past few months. While the demand for our work nationally has never been stronger-we are currently in a dozen states and are poised to launch in two more-however we are at capacity with our resources for the national expansion.  We currently have submitted multiple proposals for funding this work, and while they are under consideration, the process does take time.  We need your help to insure we do not lose momentum.
Some of you have already donated to our work and many others have asked how you can help with our expansion.  If there is one thing that would make a difference right now, it would be the ability for us to raise some funds to insure we meet our goals set at the national gathering in October of 2011.  Those goals included building our regional training networks, launching our national data study in the fall of 2012, and continuing to reach out to new and interested school communities.
We have an exciting challenge to raise some funds in the next few days.  Our partners at Global Giving are offering to match any donations for one day, but it is a first come first serve process. So, if you donate during a 24-hour period beginning March 13th 9pm PST/12am EST we qualify for a 30% match!  Just click here Global Giving to donate.
We are sharing this opportunity with all of our partners.  We invite you to donate and ask that you also share this with your local partners so that, together, we can continue to increase student success, one visit at a time.

Sincerely,
Carrie Rose, Executive Director

Parent Perspective...

Aquila Watson is a mother of seven kids and her community in DC was a little skeptical of the teachers wanting to come into their neighborhood in Washington, DC and do home visits.  However, when the teachers first came to her home her daughter was elated.
