Greetings!

Greetings to all our newsletter subscribers-whether you are just learning about home visiting throughout the country or you are a veteran home visit leader.

As another school year ends and we take time to reflect on the work in our local communities, please take time to celebrate your contribution to a truly inspiring year of home visiting expansion!  The parent stories below are certainly testimony to the power of home visiting to engage families.  New home visiting projects are being launched in locations as diverse as Iowa, Minnesota, and Washington DC.  Systematic expansion of home visiting in Colorado, Massachussetts, Montana and Virginia speak to the strategic power of home visiting in school reform efforts.

We all know that there are key elements to successful school reform: school leadership, professional capacity, instruction, learning climate, and parent and community ties.  Historically, however, the investment in parent and community ties comes in last for funding and resources.  I believe the tide is turning thanks to great research, passionate advocates, and grassroots committment to efforts like home visiting.

As we look ahead to the 2011-2012 school year, we invite all of you to learn more about our national work by joining us for our annual conference in Reno, Nevada on October 27-30 (more on that to come).  Hope you all have a great summer.  Carrie
