welcome/ bienvenidos

Welcome to all 1,260 newsletter subscribers!

Choices... I feel so fortunate to have the choice of living in the Jaltemba Bay area for six months of the year. One of the main reasons I chose to accept Allyson's offer to become part of the Jaltemba Bay Life Team is that I get the chance to share this incredible place through my eyes and the eyes of our readers, with many others who also love and want to see more of Mexico. Some of you may choose to spend your holiday time here in our gorgeous region this winter. Upon your arrival, you will find a plethora of restaurants, day tour and activity companies, spas and other businesses that offer terrific choices to both vacationers and locals alike. There are many more choices that I love about our area including the sunny weather, the variety of eateries serving freshly caught seafood and the beautiful beaches... but don't take my word for it, come and see for yourselves!

To help plan your upcoming trip or your day in the bay, don't forget to check the current weather conditions on the Official Jaltemba Bay Weather.

To find out what's happening this week and next, read through the information below and take a peek at our online Community Calendar.

During the summer, we publish the Jaltemba Bay Life newsletter every two weeks. Be sure to watch for the next issue, which will arrive in your InBox on August 7th just in time for your morning coffee.

Saludos!

Stone Fence South of Amatlan de Cañas
by Tom Plattenberger
Stone Fence TomP
This volcanic rock fence is very typical of the area. Clearing the pasture of these rocks makes the land more productive and also provides a handy material to build an enduring fence. I am always drawn to these stone fences. The toil represented and the forces that solidly hold them in place...  Read More

Sarah's Survivors: Her Name is Adelita

SW Adelita

It had been raining through the night and the creeks were all full and the water running rapidly. I was approaching a little bridge on a dirt road and something moved in front of my car. I slammed on the brakes and jumped out. There in the middle of the road was a tiny tiny kitten, the color of the road...  Read More

Italian Bread Salad

Italian Bread Salad ES

This is one of my most favourite ways to use up stale, good quality bread. We're blessed here in Jaltemba Bay with fine bakers who work from their kitchens and sell amazing bread at the markets or on the corners of any one of our villages. When we buy the bread I do my best to use it all while it's...  Read More
