Butterfly at Anai Suites

I took this picture one morning in early February after returning from downtown Guayabitos. As I entered the Anai Bungalows I watched the butterfly and had to hurry to our suite to get the camera thinking that it would probably be gone when I got back... it wasn't. Orchid Farm Tour: Beautiful and Educational

The itinerary for this private Orchid Farm tour had our group of 12 people from Guayabitos gather in San Pancho where we met up with Nicole, the tour organizer at Entreamigos, a local community education center. She gave us an informative overview of their facilities (recycling and more!), then we boarded a van and headed back up the highway to the village of Las Lomas. Read More

Hike from Los Ayala to Punta Raza

Earlier this week, David and I went on a group hike with 17 others. Lori, the hike organizer, had taken this trek several times. In an effort to make the hike more accessible to others, she arranged for a clean up crew to clear the trails and mark them with red and yellow plastic tree markers earlier in the season. Read More
