With all the talk about cheese on the Jaltemba Bay Folk Forum lately, I decided to enlist my good friend Rosalva to enlighten me about what types of cheeses are available in our area, where the best places are to purchase them and how they are most often used by the locals. Guayabitos Homeowner's Association Valentine's Dinner Dance   

The Zona Residencial Social Fund Raising Dinner will be held at Flamingos #4 in Guayabitos. The event will include: cash bar, dinner, dancing, music and more. Tickets are $300 pesos. All proceeds will go towards area maintenance, beautification and upgrades.  Read more

Arts for the Turtles
Fundraiser fiesta at Bahia del Sol Resort in Nuevo Vallarta from 11am-3pm. Numerous local artists will provide paintings, sculptures, baked goods, and artistry of various disciplines. There will be a live auction, a special luncheon by the Seahorse Restaurant, live music, and much more on the oceanfront terrace. Admission is free. Come and have a great time while saving the turtles.

Carnaval (Carnival)
Carnaval is an official Mexican holiday that kicks off a five-day celebration of the libido before Catholic Lent begins. The festival of Carnaval is celebrated as a last indulgence of carnal pleasures that Catholics must give up for 40 days of fasting during Lent, from Ash Wednesday to Easter Sunday. Carnaval is celebrated exuberantly with parades, floats, costumes, music and dancing in the streets.

The Recycling Committee of Los Amigos will be holding their last Basket Making Workshop today from 10am-noon at 162 Calle Allende, La Peņita.  Read more

7th Annual Rincon de Guayabitos Festival
The 7th Annual Rincón de Guayabitos Festival will be held every Saturday in February, courtesy of the Asociación de Hoteles del Municipio de Compostela AC. The arts and cultural activities will begin each night at 8pm in the Guayabitos Plaza and admission is free. Click here to view the schedule of events.

3rd Annual Tequila Challenge
The annual Challenge helps fund a hot lunch program for local schools in the town of Tequila. Contact Patty at Hinde y Jamie's or Esteban at Pina Colada for travel arrangements and tickets.
