Día de los Santos Reyes (Three Kings Day) This holiday marks the culmination of the twelve days of Christmas, and commemorates the three wise men who traveled from afar bearing gifts for baby Jesus. Traditionally, Mexicans exchange gifts on this date, not on Christmas day. In addition, a special holiday cake known as "Rosca de Reyes" (Three Kings Cake) is served. This round, doughnut-shaped cake with candied fruit baked on top contains three small plastic figurines inside representing baby Jesus. By tradition, if you are served a slice that contains the figurine, you must host a party on Día de la Candelaria on February 2nd.
