welcome / bienvenidos
Welcome to all 900 subscribers of the Jaltemba Bay Life Newsletter, and many more who view it on our website, Jaltemba Bay Life, and the Jaltemba Bay Folk Forum.
We made an oops in last week's newsletter, and we would like to thank the reader who brought it to our attention (you know who you are). We wrote that "we've had one of the hottest and wettest summers in recent history." What we intended to write, was that we've just had one of the hottest and driest months this summer. We're not sure how we overlooked that, but we did and we sincerely apologize. To find out just how hot and wet (or in this case dry) it's been, check out our updated weather history graph shown below.
Do you want to read about what's happening? Look no further. We've compiled a complete list of scheduled events and activities and have outlined them under "Ongoing" calender events. You can find information about all the upcoming fundraising, charity and special events as well. If we have missed something, please let us know.
To find out what else is going on, read the information below and take a peek at our online Community Calendar.
And be sure to watch for the next issue of the Jaltemba Bay Life Newsletter, which will arrive in your InBox on October 10th just in time for your morning coffee.
Saludos!

Los Amigos de Jaltemba "Buy Local Campaign" Poll
by Dave EasbyLast year, the Jaltemba Economic Development Initiative (JEDI) Committee of Los Amigos initiated a "Buy Local" Campaign to encourage both full-time and seasonal residents to do as much of their shopping as possible in the Jaltemba Bay area. Buying locally helps keep money in the community and generate employment for local residents. With the price of gas these days, it also makes sense for consumers. more >
