welcome / bienvenidos
Welcome to all 892 subscribers of the Jaltemba Bay Life Newsletter, and many more who view it on our website, Jaltemba Bay Life, and the Jaltemba Bay Folk Forum.
Fall officially arrived this past Friday which means we "should" start to see slightly cooler temps and a possibility of less rain with every passing day. This will be a welcome change, as we've had one of the hottest and wettest summers in recent history. You can see just how hot and wet it's been on the Official Jaltemba Bay Weather Page.
Speaking of weather, lady luck was on our side this weekend when Hurricane Hilary decided to change paths. Instead of passing by, she turned west and headed out to sea. Be sure to watch the Jaltemba Bay Folk Forum for all future weather updates.
For those of you who are traveling to Mexico, check out our new "Travel Tips Guide to Jaltemba Bay" where you will find everything you need for safe and hassle-free travel... including information on entry and exit documents, customs regulations, medical and travel insurance, and information about bringing a vehicle into Mexico. If you are traveling with pets, you might also want to read "Traveling with Pets to Mexico".
To find out what else is going on, read the information below and take a peek at our online Community Calendar.
And be sure to watch for the next issue of the Jaltemba Bay Life Newsletter, which will arrive in your InBox on October 3rd just in time for your morning coffee.
Saludos!

Monster in the Zona by Allyson Williams

One afternoon in June when David and I were driving through the Residential Zone in Guayabitos, we spotted an enormous male Green Iguana sunning himself along Flamingos. This big boy was the largest Iguana we had seen up close and personal in a long time. He must have measured in at a good 4-5 feet long including his tail. We have seen iguanas of this size and coloration in Sayulita before, and also a few at Backstreet Restaurant in years past, but never here in the Zona. More >

NEW Printable Version of the Emergency Phone List for Jaltemba Bay
by Allyson Williams
A few of you have emailed us to ask if there was a way to print the Emergency Phone List we published a few weeks ago. Since we believe everyone should have a copy of this information sitting next to their phone, I decided to put my graphic design skills to work and create a printable version.
You can Print the Emergency Phone List here >

Traveling with Pets to Mexico
by Allyson Williams
Due to the amount of interest in this article, we have decided to run it again this week.
I have received at least half a dozen emails this past week asking about what is needed to bring pets to Mexico. Regardless of whether you cross the border by land, air or sea, you are required to follow the same basic guidelines when bringing pets into Mexico.
For those of you who aren't aware, the requirements changed back in June 2010. Click here to view the current guidelines.
You can also find (and bookmark) this information on JaltembaBayLife.com under the "Jaltemba Bay Info" tab.
