Matthew Davidson Band News
May 14, 2012

Greetings!

The Matthew Davidson Band had a great time performing at the 2012 New Orleans Jazz Fest! We appreciate the warm welcome we received in New Orleans, both from the Jazz Fest crew and the New Orleans media. What a weekend!

Greg Walton, Chris Campisi, Kyle McClanahan and Matthew Davidson

Thanks to Jerry McLeod from the New Orleans Time-Picayune for interviewing Matthew on Friday when we arrived in New Orleans. It was a great surprise to find this feature in the paper on Saturday morning under "Celebrity News"! The article mentions Shreveport several times, and gives credit where it's due to Bruce Flett and Robin & The Bluebirds for helping Matthew's career get started and for inviting him to sit in with them last year at Jazz Fest.

"In Shreveport, that metropolis on the Red River tucked away in Louisiana's Texas-like northwest corner, a musician knows he's on the right path when Bruce and Buddy Flett, the brothers behind the Bluebirds and before that, A Train, take notice." "Hidden Gems" - Fender News

It was nice to get a mention under "Hidden Gems" from Mike Duffy on the Fender website in his article "Fender's Must-Sees At Jazz Fest": "Another highlight was teen blues guitar prodigy and Louisiana native Matthew Davidson closing down the Kids' tent on Saturday."

About Matthew Davidson -

"Matthew Davidson has been playing guitar for about six years. It looks like sixteen when you see him play."  ~ Kidd Kraddick, host of nationally syndicated radio show "Kidd Kraddick in the Morning".

"Matthew Davidson is blessed with a God-given, born-in-the-bone, talent. His musicianship is far beyond his age. When I play with Matthew, it's like playing with a musician with many years of experience. Always a perfect gentleman, Matthew's personality shines through in every performance. He obviously loves what he is doing!"      ~Joe Osborn, famed "Wrecking Crew" bassist who played on numerous hit records of the 60's - 70's with Glen Campbell, The Carpenters, The 5th Dimension, Simon and Garfunkel and many more
