"We went Down to the Crossroads..."

and had an amazing time! Crossroads Music Company in Winnsboro, TX ranks very high on our "neatest gigs" list. We had a very appreciative audience and hope to play there again in the future! Thanks to Bobby McDonald from Front Porch News Texas for this review:

"On down the road," in Winnsboro, thirteen-year -old Matthew Davidson, a Blues-guitar phenom, was featured at Crossroads Music. Davidson's band is comprised of Matthew on the vocals and guitar, with fourteen-year-old Greg Clifford on the drums, and Bruce Flett on bass guitar. "I just can't believe the talent of this guy!" expressed one of Saturday night's attendees. "He plays and sounds like a seasoned professional, and he's only 13 years old! He's definitely going places!"

"I wouldn't be surprised to look up and see him on Idol or something!" expressed another attendee at Saturday night's event in Winnsboro!"

"Well, I was a little apprehensive about ten days prior to the performance, since only 8 reservations had come into Crossroads! Booking a relatively unknown 13-year-old guitarist could have spelled trouble for this small town venue, but it was a chance we felt we had to take. Kidd Kraddick's Rock Camp all last week may have helped, since Matthew was the selected guitarist this year -- a huge honor! By the time Saturday rolled around, the phone continued to ring, and by 8 PM, things filled up nicely in support of the Matthew Davidson Band."   --Gus Gustafson - Crossroads Music Company

Hit the road, Matt:
Shreveport-based 13 year-old singer-guitarist Matthew Davidson joins Dallas-based super-teen group Breaking Even
Matthew at Rock Camp

After a couple of years of being the wonderkind of Shreveport - the Matthew Davidson Band has drawn crowds at restaurants, festivals, you name it - 13 year-old Matthew Davidson has taken a big step to being a wonder teen on the national scene.

Attending the Kidd Kraddick Rock Camp in Dallas, Davidson auditioned alongside 300 talented teens for a place in the spotlight group. Having made it, he is now giving showcase performances in the Dallas area.

You gotta love the variety of expressions on Davidson's face in their music video. Including the inadvertent, I'm sure, "I'm not singing this one and I'm so bored with simply playing guitar.
