Lineup is set for B.B's Homecoming

The lineup has been set for the B.B. King Homecoming Concert. On June 11, "The King of the Blues" will appear in his annual open air concert. Several important blues artists will also be in Indianola following the Blues, Bikes & BBQ Festival, all on the grounds of the museum.
The concert gates on the west green space will open around 1:30 p.m. and the first artist to perform will be Harmonica Bean at 2 p.m. Harmonica will be followed by Matthew Davidson at 3:30 and then Jake & the Pearl Street Jumpers will perform. At 6:15 p.m., Willie Clayton will take the stage and at 7:30 Mark "Muleman" Massey will entertain the crowd. B.B. King will be on stage about 8:30, up close and personal in his hometown.
Advance tickets for the concert are $10 and gate tickets are $15. Children under 12 will be admitted free but must be accompanied by an adult.
Morning activities at the Blues, Bikes and BBQ Festival include Art at B.B.'s which will feature handmade wooden art pieces as well as paintings and pottery. B.B.'s Antiques will include furniture, glassware, and fabrics. The Open Air Market will have homegrown vegetables and other vendors with interesting items.
The Kid Zone's first activity will start at 9 a.m. with a magic show. Other events include a bike parade, story telling, pet show and petting zoo. There will be face painting and car painting, basketball and tennis.
A Backyard Barbecue cooking contest will be held in B.B.'s Backyard behind the B.B. King Museum. Prior registration and fee will be required to enter this contest. Barbecue will be sampled and judged and prizes will be awarded.
