Dear All,
Spring is here, and signs of hope seem to be everywhere; warmer weather, longer days, trees in blossom. For many caregivers, however, as you face the uncertainty of health changes of an elder, it may not feel like a very hopeful time. You may be struggling with an elder whose memory is worsening, or you may be feeling stressed as you try to negotiate the care of an elder who is living alone. You are an invaluable part of a dependent elder's life; please remember the importance of taking care of you.
We have a full schedule of Elder Care Workshops this Spring. Descriptions of the workshops and registration information is provided below. You may wish to check out the websites under Caregiver Links for additional classes in the community that may be of interest to you or your elder. We have also included information about the weekly Mindfulness Meditation Group.
In addition to monthly workshops and an Elder Care Support Group, the Elder Care Program provides resources for you and your elders, living both geographically close and distant. If you feel that your elder care situation could be addressed more fully by a personal meeting or telephone consultation with me, please contact CARE Services, 510-643-7754, to schedule a free, confidential appointment.
Take care,
Maureen
