Dear Cobourg Cougars fans:
Friday, Feb. 18 at 8:30 p.m.: Cobourg Cougars vs. St. Michael's Buzzers -- final game in the best two out of three series. Each team has one game each.
Cobourg Cougars fans, let's fill our arena and support our Cobourg Cougars.
I challenge the four high schools-- St. Mary's, CDCI East and West, and Port Hope High School -- to come out and lead the cheering. Go Cougars, Go!

The Cougars wish to take this time to recognize the St. Michael's Buzzers. It was a hard fought battle by both teams providing first class hockey for the fans. I would like to share this letter from Mike McCarron Governor of the St. Michael's Buzzers.
Dear Cobourg Cougars Hockey Club,
On behalf of the St. Michael's Buzzers, I want to congratulate you on your series clinching victory last night in overtime.
In all of my years of being involved in hockey, I am not sure if I have ever witnessed a more exciting, engaging hockey game than last night's.
As much as I am disappointed with the loss, I am proud of our team and the battle they showed.
While losing is never easy, however, it's not nearly as bad when you lose to such a classy first rate organization as the Cobourg Cougars.
I can't tell you how proud I am of your entire organization and I truly believe that you are arguably one of the best run franchises in the league. You are now the model both on and off the ice that every team should strive to emulate.
Good luck in your next series against Kingston.

JEFF GARD Northumberland Today - Dylon McMahon celebrates after completing his hat trick with the overtime goal for the Cobourg Cougars in a 5-4 win over the St. Michael's Buzzers in the deciding game of their Ontario Junior A Hockey League series on Friday night at the Cobourg Memorial Arena. COBOURG - There was no denying Dylon McMahon the series-clinching goal on Friday night against the St. Michael's Buzzers. Eventually. Twice in regulation time McMahon put the Cougars in a position to emerge victorious before he ultimately netted the winning tally at the 7:20 mark of overtime in the deciding game of their Ontario Junior A Hockey League best-of-three qualification round series. Close to 440 spectators were on hand to watch Cobourg win a series for the first time in several years. McMahon said the hat trick was his first-ever three-goal game at the junior A hockey level. "Not a better feeling than to get a hat trick and the OT winner," he remarked after the game. In all the commotion following the final goal that resulted from a scramble in front of the St. Michael's net, McMahon's teammate James Diminie was credited with the marker. Diminie also confirmed after the game with Northumberland Today, however, that he didn't score the goal and that was fine with him. "As long as someone scored, I didn't ...

*** The NHH All-Stars vs. Cobourg Police Lawmen Charity Hockey Game ***
The NHH All-Stars vs. Cobourg Police Lawmen Charity Hockey Game takes place Monday, February 21, 2011 at 11 AM (Family Day Holiday) at the Cobourg Memorial Arena.
Entry is free with donations to NHH accepted at the door. Anyone making a donation will be entered into a draw for a Chicago Black Hawks jersey signed by Jeremy Roenick, Hockey Hall of Fame passes and VIA Rail passes.
Following the game there will be a free family skate.
The NHH All-Stars lineup includes Dr. Phillip Stratford, Tim Mills, Andrew Rennicks, Allan Brockwell, Scott Pepin, Dr. Carson Kwok, Dr. Michael Barrie, Kevin Burn, Dan O'Leary, Dr. Andrew Stratford, Chris Toope, Sebastian Sparling, Dr. Ari Haukioja and others. The Cobourg Police Lawmen include, Kevin Graham, Greg McCurdy, Jeff Briggs, Frank Francella, Damien Cunningham, Rich Ferguson, Delkie Curtis, Dave Periard, Caley O'Neill, James Hare and others.
It will be a fun-filled event for the whole family!!
